Thursdays, 2:00-3:30 p.m.

A 7-week course to equip participants in the conversation about privilege. How do we have hard conversations while holding fast to our covenant? Can we disagree yet still be kind in the effort to understand? We will study Debby Irving’s book Waking Up White: And Finding Myself in the Story of Race. Facilitated by Rob Schadt and Gregory Morisse. Participants are expected to attend all seven weeks. Each class is limited to 15 participants.
Faith and Fashion: The True Cost
Sunday, March 26, 12:00 p.m.
Who pays the price for our clothing? We will begin by educating ourselves with the documentary “The True Cost” after worship in the Youth Room. Bring lunch, popcorn, and an open heart.
Part 1: PBS Special Being Mortal
Sunday, April 30, 12:00 p.m.
This film investigates the practice of caring for the dying, and shows how doctors are often remarkably untrained, ill-suited, and uncomfortable talking about chronic illness and death with their patients.
Part 2: Book Study: Being Mortal, by Atul Gawande
Wednesdays, 7:00-8:30 p.m.: May 10, 17, 24
Inspired by the film, we invite participants to go deep, to read the book, and join us for a short course on life, living, faith, and the inevitable.
Special Sunday Guests
February 12, March 26, April 23, May 14
Each month, we will invite special guests from the community to join us in worship and share a word about their organization, their mission, and how we might get involved.
