Councils, Committees, and Ministries
The Plymouth Church in Framingham belongs to the membership. The ministry does not rain down from clouds high above; it grows from the ground up — seed, root, sprout, and blossom. The church depends on the compassion and experience of our volunteers. All that it is and all that it does depends on you showing up and lending a hand.
Awake. Engaged. In Love.
Throughout 2017-2018, our ministry will seek to make the church more awake, more engaged, and more in love.
Waking Up means recognizing that the world in which we live is not what God intends. We commit to study and to prayer, to be still until we understand the world as it is and the distance we have to travel.
Getting Engaged means putting our resources and our bodies into action. We commit to develops the skills needed, to have the hard, honest conversations that move the world closer to Christ's peaceable realm.
Falling in Love means laying down the methods of the world — competition, fear, and judgment — in favor of God’s Way. We commit to love, always to love; to listen, to be kind and have compassion.
Effective ministry is not intuitive. The skills that work in the business world do not always correlate to those that Jesus calls forth from his disciples. The following resources are practical ways to organize within your ministry or around an idea. They seek to inspire us to be and to do church whenever we gather.
